Nevados S and his rider Gregory Wathelet had an unbelievably successful season in 2022. Firstly, victory in the CSI5* Windsor Grand Prix (GBR) and a Nations Cup win in La Baule (FRA) with the Belgian team. More great placings followed in the Nations Cup of Rome (ITA) and at CHIO Aachen (GER). In 2021 Nevados S won the bronze medal at the Olympic Games in Tokyo. Soon after, he excelled with a 3rd place in the Grand Prix of Aachen, victory at the Nations Cup Final in Barcelona and in the Nations Cup in Rome. He can trace his breeding back to the Holstein line 930, from which Contendro’s damsire, Reichsgraf, descended. The sire, Calvados Z, was considered one of the studbook Zangersheide’s biggest hopes in international sport. His sudden death at 9 years old at the World Cup show in Oslo abruptly ended this promising career. His sire, Chellano, is a son of Contender out of Corrado’s full sister, Fayence. Damsire, Carthago Z, competed at the top levels under Jos Lansink. Nevados’ dam, Nestia, complements this combination of the two great Holstein C-bloodlines, Cor de la Bryère and Capitol. Her sire is Romualdo, who has won S classes under Mario Stevens and Holger Hetzel. He combines Pilot, Landgraf, Ramzes and Ramiro in his pedigree. The great grandsire, Nimrod B by Nimmerdor-Ramiro-Ladykiller xx, made a good name for himself as a jumping sire during his time in Bavaria.
Approved for OS, Holstein, BWP, Polish Stud (PZHK), AES, SF.
