An Exceptional Stallion in Breeding and Sport
In pedigree, performance and heredity, a „Euro-Stallion“ in the truest sense of the word. Bretton Woods has a big frame and the utmost in body harmony. Under saddle he shines with a beautiful silhouette, demonstrating great rideability and exceptional quality paces. In 2011 he won the bronze medal at the World Championships for five year old dressage horses. Before this he confidently won the KWPN 50 day test and won the VSN-Trophy in the Netherlands, where he was awarded 10.0 for his rideability. Bretton Woods, under Matthias Alexander Rath, made his way onto the international stage: In prominent places, such as in Vidauban/FRA, Kapellen/BEL, Perl-Borg, at the traditional Wiesbadener Pfingsturnier and at CHIA Aachen he achieved seven wins and many high placings in Prix St. Georges and Intermediaire I and reached Grand Prix level. Bretton Woods’ offspring are predictably large-framed, typey and outstanding movers. The foals were almost all awarded premiums and achieved many top prices at auction. From the first years ten sons were licensed, including Brilliant, the champion stallion from the Mecklenburger Stallion Licensing in 2014 in Redefin, in addition, Baryschnikov, Beniro, Best for Me, Beaufort, Breakman and Fürst Furioso. The most recent stallion highlight was the 2. reserve champion of the Westphalian Licensing in 2016, Birmingham, who was sold to the State Stud Celle in Lower Saxony at auction for 260.000 Euros. Daughter, Great Lady TC, was the 2015 vice champion four year old and 2016 bronze medallist in the Pavo-Cup in the Netherlands. In 2018 the oldest Bretton Woods offspring were seven years old and highly successful up to S level. Consequently, Bretton Woods enjoyed a particularly good debut in the FN breeding evaluation for dressage. Bretton Woods’ father, Johnson, himself KWPN champion stallion in 2005 and a finalist at the 2007 World Championships for Dressage Horses is highly successful in international dressage under Hans Peter Minderhoud. The mother, Annabel, together with Jazz, produced the licensed stallion Chagall and for years has been one of the highest-ranked mares in KWPN breeding. Via the epochally important black horse De Niro, who has been the number one dressage sire in the WBFSH rankings for years, and the highly esteemed Romancier from the renowned Olympia-Line of the Familie de Baey, excellent maternal genetics are also guaranteed.
Three superior paces, accompanied by a picture-perfect, large-framed and harmonious exterior and a no less remarkable, human-oriented and mentally strong interior
Bretton Woods is a son of Johnson, the KWPN Champion Stallion of 2005 and finalist of the Dressage Horse World Championships 2007, who is highly successful in international dressage sport. Bretton Woods' dam Annabel belongs to the highest ranked mares of KWPN-breeding for several years already. Her pedigree includes De Niro, who has been leading the WBFSH ranking for years and is therefore considered the world's best dressage sire as well as Romancier, and thus guarantees a first-class genetic dressage emphasis on the dam’s side.
His descendants are convincing in arenas worldwide: In the PAVO Cup, Great Lady (Bretton Woods/Osmium) was victorious with the 6-year-olds, Best for Me OLD (Bretton Woods/Latimer) took bronze with the 5-year-olds at BuCha and two more promising offspring - Boccaccio (Bretton Woods/Fürstenball) and Baco Noir (Bretton Woods/De Niro) - were presented and auctioned in December 2017 at the PSI auction.
His talent for collection and outstanding dressage potential has been proven by Bretton Woods himself on the international stage in Intermediaire I and Prix St. Georges. Bretton Woods - an exceptional dressage sire for the demanding dressage sport. WFFS: negativ
